IT’S A WRAP FROM POLAND!

Bahamas Athletics is at the end of another IAAF Championship; this year, it is the World Junior Championships. Bahamas Athletics is very proud and excited to have covered these championships for many years; more importantly, we are excited and proud when Team Bahamas are representing The Bahamas in that beautiful black and gold Puma uniform!

Apart from photographing our talented athletes, a unique experience we enjoy at these championships is the opportunity to cover and photograph events that we do not get the opportunity to cover on a daily basis such as the steeple chase and pole vault. Another unique experience particularly on this trip is for some strange reason, myself along with the other Caribbean reporters simply could get adjusted to 6 hour time difference; we found ourselves fighting our bodies hard against the time challenge.

With regards to the actual championship, for the most part, there were no complaints; the championship was very exciting and power packed. These championships never fail to disappoint; they always bring their best game.

Bahamas Athletics also got the opportunity to speak with meet Director, Paul Hardy who was very appreciative and expressed thanks to the city of Bydgoszcz, Poland for accepting the challenge of being this year’s host particularly as it was initially expected to be held in Russia but unfortunately, due to the developments happening in Russia, the IAAF withdrew the games and Poland stepped up to the plate.

We all would agree that the city of Bydgoszcz did an excellent job with hosting these championships.

As we look around and see some photographers packing their equipment to make their exit and others making their last minute wrap up stories, we too are very appreciative to the local officials for the hospitality extended to us while here.

So from the beautiful city of Bydgoszcz, Poland, Bahamas Athletics says a heartfelt thanks to all who made this visit possible. I am forever grateful to many persons including my family, Mike Sands, team doctor Dr. Hanna, my writer out of Trinidad and Tobago Clayton Clarke, my webmaster and photo editor Kendrick Strachan, my baby sister Cherry who edited the stories and also the donors who asked to remain anonymous.

To all of you…Thank you! Thank you!

I end now as I too pack up my equipment and head to the airport for the long journey back home; I ask for your prayers for a safe journey.
